The suspect was released from jail Thursday morning, according to records.
The man accused of stealing actress Frances McDormand’s Oscar at the Governors Ball on Sunday evening pleaded not guilty to the crime on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Terry Bryant, 47, allegedly nabbed the statuette and wandered around the party, pretending it was his and even bragging to guests.
Bryant posted video of himself with the award to social media, but it has since been taken down. Other cameras at the Dolby Theatre also captured him with the Oscar.
A photographer at the Governors Ball felt something was not right with the situation and he took the Oscar from Bryant. It eventually was returned to McDormand — who won for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri — later in the evening.
Bryant was charged Tuesday with felony theft. He was released from jail Thursday morning, according to records.
Bryant faces a maximum sentence of three years in county jail if convicted. He is due back in court March 28.
