Avengers 4 Directors Share Fan Art of the Survivors’ ‘Last Shawarma’

Movies

Ahead of the release of Avengers: Infinity War, fan-favorite artist Boss Logic released a fun image titled “The Last Shawarma,” a throwback of sorts to the first Avengers film. Of course, while fans — along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo — enjoyed the artwork, the snap felt around the world left us with a lot less Avengers by the end of Infinity War. Now, Boss Logic has released an updated take with those that survived Thanos’ snap and the Russo brothers were quick to repost the artwork on Instagram.

In the artwork, which you can see below, Tony is still very much at the center of the table. However, his expression has changed significantly. Rather than appearing confident among his fellow heroes, Tony appears to be in mourning, much like those around him. Notably, the signal on the television has been lost, and Shuri appears to have since taken over the Black Panther title as she sports her own costume with T’Challa gone. The most notable part of the image, however, is Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, who is lingering in the back near Thor. It’s a fun take on what’s to come in Avengers 4, all while reminding us of what we lost with Infinity War.

Unfortunately, while the Russo brothers have no problem reminding fans of the pain inflicted upon us by Infinity War, the duo still have yet to unveil the title of Avengers 4. Given that the next film up for Marvel Studios is Captain Marvel, it’s doubtful we’ll get a title reveal anytime soon — especially as a trailer for the former needs to be released first. One thing for sure, though, is that the Russo brothers are not done teasing us just yet.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Evangeline Lilly, and Josh Brolin. The film is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
