Daredevil Star Wants Sister Maggie To Fight Wilson Fisk

Sister Maggie helped Matt Murdock out a lot in Daredevil Season 3. She offered words of wisdom, tended to his wounds, and pretty much saved his life. The one thing she did not get to do? Fight his greatest enemy. Who wanted this showdown? In a new interview, Sister Maggie's portrayer, Joanne Whalley, acknowledged she did. Here's what Whalley said:

I would love for Sister Maggie to take on Wilson Fisk. Vincent [D'Onofrio] and I both were trying to work on [showrunner] Erik [Oleson] to let us meet at least once. That would have been fabulous, wouldn't it? I'm still working on it. That would be my dream scene -- Sister Maggie and Wilson Fisk.

Maybe Season 4 can deliver this "dream scene?" It would be one for the ages. Joanne Whaley's reveal to Collider would have been incredible to see brought to the screen. Albeit, her role in Daredevil proves that you do not have to get physical to make a difference. Perhaps a war of words would be in order?

Wilson Fisk considers himself quite a philosopher, and Maggie can definitely go toe-to-toe with him in that arena. Imagining the conversation they could share is enough to make you giddy. Fisk has a way of using his words in a way that is just as powerful as using his physicality. Maggie may be the only character on Daredevil capable of outmaneuvering him in that regard.

Throughout the season, she handled Matt like a pro, even when he threw down some pretty heavy stuff for her to sift through. In terms of hand-to-hand combat, Maggie would be a fierce opponent to have. Given her medical knowledge, she could know something that would even the playing field in a fight with Wilson Fisk.

We do have to consider how difficult it was for Matt to take him down, though. Sister Maggie would need an edge. Just having Fisk and her meet and solely talk would have been a wonderful moment -- although a dangerous one, and not for the reasons you may think.

Warning: Spoilers for Daredevil Season 3 are discussed below.

Late in Daredevil's third season, Sister Maggie was revealed to be Matt's biological mom. Considering Wilson Fisk is highly perceptive, he may have figured that out -- thus, making her a target of Fisk. Maybe the showrunner's desire to not even put that into the equation played a role in him deciding against Fisk and Sister Maggie meeting.

Daredevil would have had to explain why Wilson Fisk would not have figured that out and responded accordingly. Fisk should have wondered how Matt even managed to survive the events of The Defenders. Something that should have made Fisk suspicious he had outside help.

With Karen and Foggy both believing Matt was dead, that would have ruled them out. Hence, Fisk's focus turning toward the church and, eventually, Sister Maggie. Here is hoping a fourth season of Daredevil will be announced soon. That way, Sister Maggie can fight Wilson Fisk. Either with her fists or her words.

All three seasons of Daredevil are currently available to stream on Netflix. Word on a Season 4 renewal still has fans wondering. In the meantime, numerous series are making their debut this fall on the streaming giant and beyond, as well as throughout the midseason.
