I Think We’re Alone Now Trailer Has Peter Dinklage In The Apocalypse

Peter Dinklage is best known for his work in Game of Thrones or a couple of major comic book movies, but his next film is something entirely different. I Think We're Alone Now is a movie that appears to be about the literal end of the world, but instead of being full of explosions, mass violence, and death, it's about two people trying to live in the now empty world with nobody around but each other. Check out the haunting new trailer below.

I Think We're Alone Now stars Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning and, based on the trailer, nobody else. Something has happened and it seems that literally, every other human being in the world has died. Dinklage and Fanning find each other and begin to carry on together, apparently, as the only companionship either of them will ever have, though apparently there's at least one goldfish that's also still alive.

The trailer has a sense of creepy foreboding that permeates it. Some of the dialogue later in the trailer makes it clear that one or both of these characters have some secrets. Whether or not they relate to whatever event has transpired on Earth isn't clear, though certainly, that's the impression the trailer wants to give.

Needless to say, this looks quite good. While Peter Dinklage's celebrity thanks to Game of Thrones has helped him get major roles in superhero blockbusters like X-Men: Days of Future Past and Avengers: Infinity War, he has shown his abilities as a serious dramatic actor as well in films like The Station Agent and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. He's always compelling and even in this brief trailer that's clear here as well.

I Think We're Alone Now is the first feature film written by Mike Makowsky who has also written the upcoming Bad Education starring Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by Reed Morano who, interestingly, is acting as her own cinematographer, which would seemingly guarantee that every shot of the movie will be exactly what the director wanted. This will be her feature film debut as a director, having previously directed episodes of several popular television series including The Handmaid's Tale. Her next directorial effort, The Rhythm Section is already in post-production and will be released early next year.

If you're a fan of slow burn dramas, compelling character stories, or just movies that might creep you the hell out from start to finish, this one may be the perfect movie. I Think We're Alone Now debuted earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival but it will begin to hit theaters for the rest of us in September, opening in limited release September 14, before going into wide release September 21.
