Jodie Whittaker Debuts As First Doctor Who Barbie Doll

Television

Even as Jodie Whittaker made her official debut Sunday on Doctor Who as the first woman to play the Time Lord, she also became the first Doctor to be depicted in Barbie form.

Her Thirteenth Doctor is now available for order from Mattel and other outlets, for delivery by Dec. 3, in plenty of time for the holidays.

The Thirteenth Doctor is, of course, is of course depicted as she appears on the hit BBC sci-fi adventure, with a rainbow-striped T-shirt, suspenders, cropped pants, hooded trench coat and lace-up (albeit plastic) boots, looking as if she just stepped out of the TARDIS. Naturally, she also comes with her distinctive sonic screwdriver, because … well, why wouldn’t she. See the images in the gallery below.

Considering Mattel’s Barbie line has released dolls of Captain Kirk and Spock from Star Trek, Fox Mulder from The X-Files, Owen from Jurassic World, and the Man of Steel and Dark Knight from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we have to wonder what took the toymaker so long to get around to Doctor Who. But, hey, Whittaker’s Doctor is a fine start.
