Fresh off the surprise cancellation of Iron Fist, Netflix has assured investors that the streaming service is pleased with the performance of the other Marvel superhero drams and in control of their futures.
In a quarterly earnings call, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos briefly touched upon the status of the Marvel series — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and The Punisher — in the wake of the announcement last week of Iron Fist‘s cancellation.

“Those shows are for us to cancel,” explained Sarandos. “And we’re super happy with their performance so far.”
The statement confirms earlier statements by Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb that Netflix has the final say on whether the dramas would be renewed or canceled.

In the meantime, the inaugural Marvel Netflix series, Daredevil, returns for its third season on Friday, while principal photography on Season 2 of The Punisher concluded this summer with an anticipated premiere in early 2019. Similarly, the third season of Jessica Jones is filming, and while Luke Cage has not been officially renewed, showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has reportedly begun to assemble a writers’ room to develop a new season.
