Fans at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego can now get an up close and personal look at the costume Zachary Levi will be wearing in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Shazam! flick.

The superhero’s (also known as Captain Marvel in the DC Universe) costume stands out with its bright red colors, but most notably, we see the bracelets, belt and boots, all golden, as well as the character’s iconic white cape, all in majestic detail. We can also view the lightning symbol on the costume lit up, as well as within the bracelets, indicative of Shazam’s lightning-based powers.
Also on display alongside Shazam’s gear is the get-up his civilian counterpart, Billy Batson (played by Asher Angel), will be wearing. Out in the open is the young kid’s trenchcoat, hat, red tee and book-bag, exactly what a young teen in school would be rocking. We recently got a look at Billy and his best friend Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer) in action, hinting at a warm, lighthearted adventure to come.

An adaptation of the comic book character created by writer Bill Parker and artist C. C. Beck in 1939’s Whiz Comics #2, Shazam! follows orphan Billy Batson (Asher Angel) who gains mythical powers after encountering an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou) with the same name. Whenever Batson speaks the wizard’s name, he transforms into the mighty superhero to help his friends and fight crime including the mad scientist Dr. Sivana (Mark Strong).
Debuting in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! is directed by David F. Sandberg and stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as an ancient wizard named Shazam, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vázquez, and Marta Milans as Rosa Vázquez.
