CBS is certainly offering a balanced field of comedy and crime procedurals. When you are done getting your laughs on, prepare for some action and adventure to enter the fray, as well. The Big Bang Theory franchise is getting a special head start. Fans will get a double dose of each series, as their season premieres air on Monday and the shows return to their usual time slots on Thursday of the same week.

CBS' hallmark reality series Survivor and Big Brother will be like two ships passing each other in the night: one on its way to beginning and the other reaching its end. The network is also keeping its Friday night stacked with new programming. While crime procedurals will carry the network on the last weeknight, CBS will carry that momentum into Saturday's programming, as well.

In September, there will be four new shows joining CBS' line-up. They are the Magnum P.I. reboot, starring Jay Hernandez, and Law & Order franchise creator Dick Wolf's FBI, which will be sandwiched between the NCIS franchise shows. That franchise will return in its entirety in September, which means you will not have to wait much longer to see how the mothership series deals with the loss of original cast member Pauley Perrette in the long-term.

Also new on the line-up is the new fantasy drama God Friended Me. The fourth freshman series is not entirely new, as it is a revival. After twenty years off of the air, Murphy Brown will return to the airwaves with its original cast, as well as some new members. With September analyzed, let's jump into October's offerings.

Monday, October 1

8 p.m. -- The Neighborhood Series Premiere

8:30 p.m. -- Happy Together Series Premiere

9 p.m. -- Magnum P.I.

10 p.m. -- Bull

Wednesday, October 3

8 p.m. -- Survivor

9 p.m. -- SEAL Team Season 2

10 p.m. -- Criminal Minds Season 14

Saturday, October 6

8 p.m. -- Crimetime Saturday (Two-Hour Presentation)

10 p.m. -- 48 Hours

Sunday, October 7

7 p.m. -- 60 Minutes

8 p.m. -- God Friended Me

9 p.m. -- NCIS: Los Angeles

10 p.m. -- Madam Secretary Season 5

CBS will welcome two new series in October, and both are comedies. First up is The Neighborhood starring Cedric the Entertainer and New Girl actor Max Greenfield. Airing next will be the new comedy starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West: Happy Together. With the lineup pretty stabilized following September, October features fewer premieres by comparison. There is the return of veteran crime procedural Criminal Minds, the second season premiere of SEAL Team, and the return of the Sunday night drama Madam Secretary.

As you can see CBS' autumn programming is "falling" right into place. Viewers have a lot to look forward to. For more of what's happening on CBS, check out the network's official site.
