DC’s Super Pets to Star in Animated Movie

Movies

An animated movie starring DC Comics’ four-legged Super Pets is in the works at Warner Bros. Jared Stern, who wrote The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie is slated to write and direct.

The comic book Super Pets also go by the Legion of Super-Pets and are a team of animals that each represent one of the high-profile superhero franchises in the DC Universe: Superman has Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat, Comet the Super-Horse and Beppo the Super-Monkey; Titus falls under the Batman umbrella as his son, Damian Wayne’s pet dog, along with the Bat-Cow; and Storm, Aquaman’s seahorse, as a few examples of who we could see on the big screen.

Stern’s background in animation aside from the LEGO movies includes Bolt, The Princess and the Frog, Wreck-It Ralph, Meet the Beetles and It’s a Small World. He will also executive produce the upcoming Storks and Smallfoot for Warner Bros, as well as writing and directing a Green Eggs and Ham adaptation for Netflix. Stern’s live-action work can also be seen in Dr. Ken (which he co-created), The Internship, The Watch and Mr. Popper’s Penguins.

Super Pets would join the recently-released Teen Titans Go! To The Movies for feature films based on DC Comics characters for Warner Bros. Animation.
