SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Episode 4, Season 9 of . Tonight, The Walking Dead might have just clinched how Rick Grimes will leave the series. The man who’s led the show from its nascency only has one episode left before leaving for good and irrevocably changing the face of one of the most popular shows in television history. RELATED: Andrew Lincoln announced his departure from the series he’s helmed for nine seasons earlier this year, citing the desire to spend more time with family start a new chapter in his career. But rumors also swirled that he’d been creatively frustrated with the decision to kill off Carl, which makes sense, given how important Lincoln always believed Carl was to Rick’s motivation. Carl has continued to serve in that capacity even from beyond the grave. It was essentially his dying wish that Rick offer amnesty to the Saviors and try to build a better world run by mercy and compassion. Rick’s been so committed to bringing that vision about, he’s grown blind to the fact that it might not work. This week, those problems came to a head when Daryl actively aided Maggie in her assassination of Negan by intentionally keeping Rick away from Alexandria. The two wind up trapped in a pit near the bridge as two different walker herds close in on them. As they try to find their way out and work together, Daryl forces Rick to face the possibility that Rick’s grief might be motivation for him to forgive the Saviors, but he can’t demand it work that way for everyone else. RELATED: He pleads with Rick to let Carl go and abandon a utopia that might not be realistic, no matter how much Rick wants to create it in his son’s honor. Rick seems like he’s finally hearing Daryl for the first time in a long time, but they don’t get much further before gunshots ring out nearby and the two men are forced to get out of the pit with more urgency. Things don’t get much better once they’re freed, what with two walker herds approaching. Rick decides to stay and lead them away from the bridge as Daryl rides off to see what’s going on, but the herds spook his horse and he gets thrown. He’s impaled on a piece of steel poking out of some reinforced concrete, putting him right back in the same position he was in in the pilot – wounded, alone and beset by monsters. RELATED: The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with no hope of rescue since Rick can’t move and no one’s around to carry him to safety. It’s doubtful we’re going to see an entire night dedicated to him writhing on a rock only to be devoured by walkers. Of course, it’s even more doubtful that Rick suffering a catastrophic injury in his penultimate episode will lead to anything but his tragic demise. How exactly everything will actually play out remains to be seen, but it’s looking more and more likely that Rick Grimes will follow in his son’s footsteps when it comes time to leave the show he started nine years ago. Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. With the character only briefly seen in silhouette or out of focus in flashbacks, speculation has mounted as to who portrays Bruce Wayne on DC Universe’s . And with the latest round of casting rumors debunked, it appears the mystery of who portrays the premium streaming service’s Caped Crusader continues. that Lewis Tan, who previously appeared in this year’s Deadpool 2 as Shatterstar and as Zhou Chen on the first season of Netflix’s Iron Fist, was portraying the series’ incarnation of the Dark Knight. This rumor was compounded by this past June, holding a stack of Batman comics presumably for research. RELATED: Despite this alleged evidence, the rumor of Tan portraying Titans’ Batman has been refuted by Umberto Gonzalez, reporter for entertainment news site The Wrap. No, Lewis Tan is NOT playing Bruce Wayne in TITANS. — Umberto Gonzalez (@elmayimbe) With Tan evidently not portraying Bruce Wayne on the series, that leaves two major questions: Who is playing Batman on the inaugural DC Universe original series and what role did Tan meet with DC Entertainment for exactly this past summer? WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Season 3, streaming now on Netflix. One of the most welcome additions to the third season of Daredevil was FBI Special Agent Ray Nadeem, a beleaguered family man who struggles to provide for his wife and son. At the beginning of the new season, incarcerated crime lord Wilson Fisk cuts a deal with Nadeem to transfer to house arrest but is eventually killed by fellow FBI agent gone rogue, Benjamin Poindexter who works with the Kingpin as the villainous Bullseye. In new interview, actor Jay Ali, who portrays Nadeem, revealed that the FBI agent’s death was not always a sure thing. RELATED: “When [showrunner Erik Oleson] told me that [Nadeem would die], I was like, ‘Okay, this is gonna be great. It’s gonna be a great arc,'” explained Ali in an interview with when he first learned of Nadeem’s impending death. “Then I remember halfway through the season, he came to me and he was like, ‘Look, we’re thinking of not actually killing Ray.’ But we had a discussion about it, and we were like, ‘It’s the right thing to do for the story, to do that.'” So while Nadeem’s death had been originally intended for character, a proposed last-minute rewrite could’ve saved the character to potentially appear in future stories across Netflix’s Marvel series. Instead, the family man became another victim at the hands of Poindexter and helped illustrate the former lawman’s descent into psychotic villainy. RELATED: Now available on Netflix, Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3 stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, Jay Ali as Rahul “Ray” Nadeem, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. When first premiered nearly five years ago, it was said that we would never see one true, proper Joker. Instead, the Batman prequel television series would feature several possible Jokers, so as to not give the character one particular origin story. Fast forward to Season 5, and now it appears as if the Clown Prince of Cime is fully formed, and ready to take Gotham City by storm. For quite a few seasons now, the birth of the Joker has been closely tied with Jerome Valeska and his twin brother, Jeremiah, both played by Cameron Monaghan. When Season 4 of Gotham concluded, Jerome was dead, and Jeremiah was following in his brother’s footsteps as a maniacal, criminal genius who left the city in chaos and ruins. The character was all but ready to become the Joker and now, with Season 5, it appears as if the Fox series will finally feature Jeremiah as the iconic Batman villain. RELATED: A new picture from the set of Gotham, which is currently in the midst of filming its fifth and final season, offers us a look at the returning Jeremiah, who now not only has the pale skin of the Joker, but also the signature green hair and colorful, striped suit. The purple gloves only add to a mix of colors that makes the character stand out as someone who could ultimately become the real Joker. The Bat, Jeremiah & Alfred catching up on their reading.

holds a very special place in the hearts of fans, so naturally, many rejoiced when it was announced last year that the full series would be as a Blu-ray box set. However, it appears Warner Bros. Home Entertainment failed to anticipate just how much fans would rejoice, as its now increased production to 70,000 units “to accommodate overwhelming demand.” “As many fans and media have noticed, Amazon and other notable retailers were forced to suspend sales of Batman: The Complete Animated Series Deluxe Limited Edition due to unprecedented demand for this beloved series,” General Manager & EVP, Television for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Jeff Brown said. “Sales surpassed our initial run of 30,000 limited edition box sets about four weeks ago and, rather than leave so many fans wanting, we implemented new production orders to accommodate the requests for this prized collection. A significant portion of those increased numbers have already sold, and all sites are accepting orders again.” RELATED: Batman: The Animated Series ran for two seasons from 1992 to 1995, airing over 80 episodes. Celebrating its 25th anniversary last September, Batman: The Animated Series was the first show in DC’s modern animated universe (DCAU), produced by Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm. Bringing together iconic voice casts like Kevin Conroy’s Bruce Wayne/Batman and Mark Hamill’s Joker, the “Dark Deco” aesthetic mixed with three-dimension character’s resulted in B:TAS becoming one of the most beloved interpretations of the Batman character to date. Could we see the return of now that has a new showrunner? According to John Barrowman, the possibility has at least been discussed. In a new interview with , Barrowman, who played Captain Jack Harkness on the series, revealed that a new Torchwood series isn’t necessarily off the table. At least, not now that former showrunner Chris Chibnall is presently running things on Doctor Who. According to the actor, while Chibnall was still finalizing his deal to become the new showrunner on Doctor Who, Barrowman emailed him about Torchwood and received a promising response. RELATED: So, how exactly did the conversation come about? Barrowman, who recently starred on the CW’s Arrow, explained that he’s been meeting with various production companies all around the United States — including the CW — and, unsurprisingly, most of them have shown interest in securing the rights to Torchwood. The series, which served as a Doctor Who spinoff, ran between 2006 and 2011 and saw Barrowman’s Captain Harkness protect South Wales from alien attacks, along with some help from a group of experts. Though short-lived, the series has continued to find a new fanbase thanks to other storytelling platforms, including audio dramas and . Unfortunately, though, the possibility of Torchwood coming back to life on the small screen has seemed rather slim in recent years, which is why Barrowman’s conversation with Chibnall sounds so promising. When the actor emailed Chibnall, he asked if the former showrunner would be interested in a potential Torchwood revival, to which Chibnall responded rather coyly. “He e-mailed me back, and he said ‘As you probably know, I’m in the middle of something very big at the moment, and I can’t discuss anything else,'” Barrowman explained. “But he said ‘Let’s talk when things calm down a bit.’ And that was just at the beginning of his negotiations for Doctor Who.” As it turns out, if Torchwood stands any chance at a revival, Chibnall is the person who can make it happen. “If anyone can do it, it’s Chris,” said Barrowman. “Chris is the one who can make the decision, because it’s always the decision of the showrunner of Doctor Who. I was told that that’s the person who can decide about bringing back Torchwood. Or Captain Jack to Doctor Who.” RELATED: Created by Russell T. New York Comic Con was the site of a return to Metropolis for fans of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and for stars Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain. The pair was reunited at a panel celebrating the 25th anniversary of the hit ‘90s show, and for nearly an hour, they reminisced about the four seasons they spent together as one of pop culture’s most beloved couples. When it comes to the chemistry they had on set, Cain and Hatcher set the standards for couples on superhero shows, and the easy rapport between the pair was actually a happy accident. Hatcher noted that the actors never screen tested together for the show, but according to both, their personalities always meshed and balanced each other out. RELATED: Cain said that the show worked well because of their differing personalities, and because their characters followed suit. “Clark was sort of reactionary, but [Lois] ran the show, and the balance of our personalities worked really, really well,” he explained. “In virtually every scene, I had my partner and she would just drive the scene.” The pair also talked about their favorite moments from the show. Hatcher noted that her favorite iconic moment from the show was in the pilot, when Superman flies Lois in through the window at the Daily Planet and sets her down in the crowded newsroom. (Her favorite full episode, however, was Season 1’s “Honeymoon in Metropolis,” because she loved the romantic comedy-esque tone.) While Cain loved that scene as well, his favorite moment in the series was when Clark proposed to Lois, as he felt that it encapsulated their entire relationship. The moderator mentioned that another notable aspect of the show was the dynamic of the Clark/Superman characters. Where many other iterations show Superman as the true self, Lois &Clark follows comic writer John Byrne’s reinvention of the character, where Clark is the main person and Superman is the disguise. Cain was asked if he could have played the character any other way, and had a very simple answer: “No.” He laughed, and noted that as time went on, he much preferred playing Clark, with Hatcher joking it was just because he didn’t want to wear Superman’s iconic tights. RELATED: Toward the end of their conversation with each other and the audience, the actors once again noted the longevity of the show’s influence, and the worldwide reach of the show. Cain reflected on a time just a few years ago that he was in the “middle of nowhere in China,” and as he walked down the street a man looked up and shouted “Superman!” at him. “It’s great to be a part of this,” Hatcher said of belonging to the larger Superman mythos. “It doesn’t mean we were a bigger part or a smaller part than any of the others, each one is different and that’s great.” “Except that we were a bigger part,” Cain added with a smile. In a surprise announcement, CBS All Access has ordered an animated comedy series from Ricky and Morty writer Mike McMahan. Titled Star Trek: Lower Decks, the upcoming series will follow the support crew of one of Starfleet’s less important starships with comedic effect. RELATED: “Mike won our hearts with his first sentence: ‘I want to do a show about the people who put the yellow cartridge in the food replicator so a banana can come out the other end,'” explained executive producer Alex Kurtzman in an interview with . “The man is committed. He’s brilliantly funny and knows every inch of every Trek episode and that’s his secret sauce: he writes with the pure, joyful heart of a true fan. As we broaden the world of Trek to fans of all ages, we’re so excited to include Mike’s extraordinary voice.” The latest Star Trek series as part of CBS’ premium streaming service comes as part of a deal to oversee the expansion of the franchise to year-round programming with new series across the next five years. RELATED: “As a life-long Trekkie, it’s a surreal and wonderful dream come true to be a part of this new era of Star Trek,” declared McMahan. “While Star Trek: Lower Decks is a half-hour, animated show at its core, it’s undeniably Trek — and I promise not to add an episode at the very end that reveals the whole thing took place in a training program.” There are currently no additional details available for Lower Decks including cast or expected premiere date. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Man of Steel) will play Jim Gordon, Bader added. RELATED: Describing Tudyk as “hilarious,” Bader told , “I did a [recording] session with him a while ago, and he’s very funny as Joker.” Starring Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) in the title role, Harley Quinn follows the DC antiheroine fresh from her break-up with The Joker, as she sets out to score a place on the Legion of Doom. on Warner Bros.’ new DC-branded streaming service, Harley Quinn has been billed as an adult animated comedy, something Bader underscored in his interview. RELATED: “It’s funny,” he said, adding with a chuckle, “There’s a lot of dirty language in it! I’m not going to be watching it with my kids, at this juncture — maybe in a couple of years, when they’re a little bit older. It’s definitely an Adult Swim-esque take on it, so it’s darker, but it’s very funny. Arrowverse fans aren’t the only ones who might imagine a relationship between Oliver Queen and Barry Allen. Arrow star Stephen Amell envisions it too — on this one occasion, at least. Grant Gustin debuted as Barry in the second season of Arrow, before going on to star his own series, The Flash. His Scarlet Speedster has remained friends and allies with Green Arrow ever since, but there’s no denying some fans who wish they were more than that. Amell had a little fun with those viewers when he tweeted a heartwarming photo of himself embracing a costumed Gustin on the set of this year’s Arrowverse crossover, and wrote, “I ship it.” I ship it. — Stephen Amell (@StephenAmell) Even if it’s a bit more jokey than what some fans were probably hoping for, it’s nevertheless a nice moment, for viewers and for the actors. WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Season 3, now streaming on Netflix. With fans still reeling from the cancellations of and , Daredevil star Charlie Cox has called into question whether there are additional seasons planned for his Marvel Netflix drama. Indeed, , with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk returned to prison, and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reunited, and once again on good terms, with friends Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and even planning to open a new law firm. Although the final moment teased the potential rebirth of Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter as Bullseye, this season neatly tied up loose threads that had been dangling since 2015. RELATED: Asked by about Matt’s future following this more “hopeful” ending, Cox confessed, “At this point, I don’t know if there’s any intention of us doing more seasons.” “But were that to be the case,” he continued, “I think there’s an interesting challenge for the writers, because I don’t think we can do another season where Matt is so isolated, so alone, and so broken and angry. I think in order to avoid being a broken record, we’re going to have to find a Matt Murdock that at least initially has a slightly different attitude toward the people that he loves, and toward himself, and toward God.” RELATED: , but undoubtedly more optimistic. ““I can tell you that I’m very hopeful to go do a Season 4. There has not yet been any kind of an official pick-up,” he said in an interview published earlier this week, “but if there is, I’m very hopeful that I will be a part of it.” Those comments of course arrive in the shadow of the cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, made in two successive weeks. Although the former may have not come as much surprise, considering the mixed (at best) reviews for Iron Fist‘s two seasons, the blow from the latter was deeply felt. A new report, released on Tuesday, indicates , which may not only explain the cancellations but also cast doubts about the survival of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Now, thanks to a new picture from the set of “Elseworlds,” we can add a new character to the list of superheroes who will appear in the highly-anticipated crossover event: John Wesley Shipp’s The Flash. And no, we are not talking about Jay Garrick, the role Shipp is currently playing on the current, Grant Gustin-starring television series. We mean the Scarlet Speedster that Shipp played in the ’90s television series, The Flash, where he played Barry Allen. RELATED: The picture, which was posted by Stephen Amell on the Arrow star’s personal Instagram account, features Shipp in his old Flash costume, standing side-by-side with Supergirl, Oliver Queen’s Flash and Barry Allen’s Green Arrow (a body swap which is, in and of itself, ). Fans will instantly recognize Shipp’s old Flash costume, which appears to be lifted straight from the 1990 series. A post shared by (@stephenamell) on Oct 22, 2018 at 4:11pm PDT While we don’t yet know how Shipp’s Flash will become involved in the events of the crossover, his mere presence retroactively makes the ’90s series a part of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl‘s multiverse. The title of the event itself, Elseworlds, is a reference to out-of-continuity comic book stories that partially constitute the DC Multiverse. Therefore, the world of the 1990 The Flash television series has now become an official part of the Arrowverse, like NBC’s Constantine before it. Shipp’s inclusion in the crossover comes as a genuine surprise, and it only adds to the excitement surrounding the big event. RELATED: DCTV returns to The CW this fall with The Flash leading the charge on Tuesday, October 9 with its Season 5 premiere at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by Season 2 of Black Lightning at 9 PM. Supergirl will follow the next week on Sunday, October 14 at 8 PM, with Arrow the next day on Monday, October 15 at 8 PM. Finally, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return on Monday, October 22 at 9 PM. The highly-anticipated “Elseworlds” crossover will air over three nights, from Dec. 9 to Dec. 11. The post appeared first on .
