A year ago today, Edgar Wright's Baby Driver came out in theaters, the first movie from the writer/director since 2013's The World's End. Baby Driver had been an idea bouncing around in Wright's head for years, and following his departure from Ant-Man, he was finally able to bring this story to life. The end result was a critical and commercial success, and since then there's been chatter about Baby Driver 2 possibly becoming a reality, something which Wright teased in the post below commemorating the first movie's 1-year anniversary.

— edgarwright (@edgarwright) June 28, 2018To be perfectly clear, Baby Driver 2 hasn't officially been given the green light yet, but by the way Edgar Wright refers to Ansel Elgort's Baby in his Twitter post, it sounds like there's still a decent chance that Ansel Elgort's Baby could ride again. Wright has yet to film a sequel to any of his movies, so Baby Driver 2 would be the first to break that pattern. Baby Driver 2 was first brought up as a possibility shortly after the original was released, and then last December, Wright stated that talks were happening about a sequel. That said, even if Baby Driver 2 moves forward, not only is it still unclear if Wright would direct it in addition to writing the script, but it also remains to be seen if it would be his next project or if he would turn his attention to something else first.

The end of Baby Driver saw its eponymous protagonist being arrested and imprisoned for his role in the various robberies he served as getaway driver. Not long before being intercepted by the police, Baby, real name Miles, was also deafened by Jon Hamm's vengeful Buddy. That would would be a shame for anyone, but it was especially bad for Baby given his love of music, which helped him deal with his tinnitus. Although Baby was sentenced to 25 years in prison, he would be eligible for parole after five years, and the end of the movie saw him finally being released after an undefined period of time, with the love of his life, Lily James' Debora, waiting for him. We'll have to wait and see just what Baby Driver 2 holds in store if it gets the go-ahead, but here's hoping that Baby's deafening was only temporary, thus allowing him to resume enjoying his tunes and allow the sequel to remain musically guided.
