New Venom Trailer Confirmed For Release On Tuesday

More Venom footage is on the way, as Sony China has confirmed a new trailer for director Ruben Fleischer’s film will debut Tuesday

The social media post suggests the trailer will offer fans the first look at Venom’s full body. Previously released footage and images have shown only the symbiote’s head and shoulders.

It was revealed at Comic-Con International in San Diego that Tom Hardy’s Venom doesn’t have the signature spider emblem on his chest. While the head is comics-accurate, the rest of the design departs from the source material because Spider-Man doesn’t play a role in the alien’s introduction to Earth, nor is Eddie Brock’s backstory connected to Peter Parker. Despite the change, fans reacted positively to the footage screened during Sony’s Hall H presentation.

Released in February, Venom’s teaser trailer earned a largely negative response because it didn’t actually show the symbiote, fueling rumors that the alien barely appears in the film. Opinions largely shifted with the release of the first full-length trailer, which showcased Venom in action.

Arriving Oct. 5, director Ruben Fleischer’s Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze, Reid Scott and Riz Ahmed.
